Carnie Wilson

Carnie Wilson was born on April 27, 1968 and is professionally a singer and an American Television host for various programs and talk shows and is a member of Wilson Phillips, a pop music group. She is currently hosting the Newlywed Show in its second season on the Game Show Network in which the very first gay couple to be brought on stage is George Takei and his husband Brad Altman, first happy couple of the same sex to be given a chance to appear in such a show.

Carnie Wilson got her musical interests in inheritance from her father who was a pop music icon in the 1960’s. Carnie started her own pop music band Wilson Phillips wither her sister Wendy and old friend Chynna in her teens and have been successful in releasing 2 albums before breaking up in 1993 and later regrouped in 2004 and released a third album. Although in the years in between carnie released an album with Wendy and also tried to perform solo but both efforts did not gain much acclaim. In 2006, Carnie Wilson released her solo album of lullabies shortly after the birth of her baby daughter and a Christmas album in 2007 named Christmas with Carnie.

One problem that follwed her throughout her life was her weight problems because of which she has been much ridiculed on various shows and parodies. After unsuccessful dieting programs she went through gastric bypass surgery and lost 150 pounds. Perhaps it was her obesity because of which she was generally kept in the background in their bands’ musical performances too. Although Carnie made guest appearances on the 70’s Show, and Sabrina: the Teenage Witch but she had a show named to her in the mid 90’s as Carnie. She also starred in a show called Outsider’s Inn and is currently hosting the Newlyweds Show.
